History of our brands from 1945 to today
ROSENBERG, ECOFIT and ETRI were originally three different companies. Today, they are all marketed by the ROSENBERG Group. Their respective experience in innovation and marketing has made them a powerful group, offering a wide range of fans for a variety of applications. Air is our element!
1945
Paul HAVARD founds ETRI: Etudes Techniques et Représentations Industrielles. ETRI, initially based in La Garenne Colombes, is first and foremost a design, consultancy and sales office in the fields of electronics and ventilation.
1959
ETRI launches its first range of fans for the electronics industry, and takes over its own production in 1963.
ETRI is at the origin of many innovations, such as motor mounts, clover cap, tachometric outputs on AC motors, electronically commutated brushless fans, etc.
1976
Guy CARBONELL, Hervé LAMIRAULT and Jacques BARDIN set up ECOFIT in Vendôme. The company specializes in the manufacture of fractional electric motors for kitchen hood ventilation, before moving into the market of controlled mechanical ventilation (CMV), hair dryers, domestic aerators and air conditioning.
1980
ECOFIT develops two new products: permanent-capacitor motors and external-rotor motors for CMV, heat pumps, flue gas recovery, cooling, window aerators and refrigerated display cases.
1981
Karl Rosenberg founds ROSENBERG VENTILATOREN in Künzelsau, Germany. The company designs and manufactures larger fans than the ECOFIT brand. The company then became a group, setting up production and sales facilities in many countries.
The 80s and 90s
ECOFIT expands its range of fans: axial fans, single- and double-inlet centrifugal fans and centrifugal backward fans. It also offers hot-air fans, cross flow fans and single motors.
ETRI was successively sold to several groups, while continuing to develop its range of high-performance, 400Hz and compact axial fans.
Each brand gradually develops its own worldwide distribution network.
1994
The ROSENBERG VENTILATOREN group acquires ECOFIT to expand its range of fans.
2002
ECOFIT acquires the ETRI brand. This brand offers fans with different characteristics, enabling ECOFIT to enter new markets such as railways, aeronautics and other applications in severe environments (shock, vibration, high humidity, etc.).
After developing ventilation solutions using alternating current (AC) and then direct current (DC), ECOFIT is now focusing on the development of fans with electronic commutation: EC technology. This technology enables the speed of fans to be controlled to adapt their airflow to immediate needs. This solution delivers substantial energy savings.
2020
The company ECOFIT becomes ROSENBERG VENDÔME. ECOFIT and ETRI remain brands of fans designed and marketed by ROSENBERG VENDÔME.
The group is now present in 42 countries through its production and distribution sites.
